woolshed falls, beechworth

It’s not just the beautiful people and interesting past that makes Beechworth an awesome spot to visit. The natural wonders are stunning and you just have to check out Woolshed Falls. You’ll need to head out of town for around 10 minutes by car to the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park. Here there are two access points. We had a flying visit so headed straight to the second car park which takes you directly to the lookout.

You’ll be able to see the white water from up here, as well as the beautiful swimming holes further up the river. The water at the top looks stunning and families look to be having a lovely dip in the setting sun. Further down the falls however, is far more treacherous and Mamma is not exactly sure how anyone would get down, let alone back up on the slippery rock face.

The first car park that you come across will provide access to the mid way part of Spring Creek and there are places for a picnic and walks that will help you explore the site where alluvial gold was found.
