the magic forest, stanley
/If Mamma sees the words MAGIC FOREST pop up on Google maps … you bet your bottom dollar we are going to investigate!
Hidden in the Stanley Plantation is a segment of redwoods that soar into the clouds. The giants are magnificent in themselves and it’s in their nature to leave a carpet of needles below and scattering of beautifully straight branches below. These are the key to unlocking imagination!
Visitors and locals have spent their days collecting these branches and making some truly beautiful things. From a giant bird nest complete with benches, to bush cubbies of all sorts of designs, this Magic Forest is a great wonderland for adventure.
Unlike the Warburton Redwood Forest, there are no clear signs to help you find it, the reception along the logging tracks can be sketchy, but if you plug into the destination before you leave town, you should be set. Once you get there, do pay attention to where you are walking - there were some deep holes along the path.
