You can’t really say you have done Beechworth until you have been to Beechworth Bakery. This place has been an institution since 1984 and you just HAVE to try a pastry, or a pie, a snot block, a bee sting AND a meringue. Mamma hasn’t seen the rules written anywhere exactly … but pretty much every visitor to town knows this instinctively! The lines at this place are pretty impressive over the weekend.
If you can, head upstairs and grab a seat on the balcony outside. It’s got brilliant views of the old post office, the newsagent and the general comings and goings of country life.
