yarra valley trail, lilydale to yering

We love a great rail to explore! Even better when it is nice and flat and has a lovely view to take in. The Yarra Valley Trail opened earlier this year and is ideal for a family stroll, a place to ride the bikes and simply take in some fresh air. Eventually, the trail will connect Lilydale to Yarra Glen, but is currently half way with 7.5 km of gravel track between Lilydale (starting at the same point as the Warbuton Trail) at Beresford Rd,, to MacIntyre Lane Lane and Melba Hwy in Yering. There are no facilities (apart from a water tap at Lilydale), but this a great way to see the route of the old railway track. You might even uncover an old platform or two on the way.
