menzies creek museum, menzies creek

We’ve been to plane museums, visited ambulances, seen firetrucks and now, we can visit a TRAIN museum. Puffing Billy Railway have opened the roller doors to their very own railway collection at Menzies Creek. It is a huge shed that has been 10 years in the making and displays over 80 exhibits. You can spot plenty of wheels, tracks, signs and for the older kids, lots of little facts to learn along the way.

The displays are just for looking at and not climbing on (hands in pockets little one!) but there is a toy and book collection that the kids can explore at the entrance of the shed (however, this may have been removed since COVID). There is a small coffee stand and benches where you can relax before you head off on your next adventure. The train fans are going to love it.

Mamma’s special mention: Check the local timetable for Menzies Creek HERE and head to the platform to check out the Puffing Billy in action. You might even want to climb aboard and head up to Emerald or further up the track to Gembrook for a complete adventure, when service returns.
