Wall of Magic Creatures is a free interactive kids exhibition/Creative Playground by artist Kate Beynon.

Inspired by supernatural tales and the Lunar Zodiac, Wall of Magic Creatures encourages kids (and adults!) to play, connect and create through tactile exploration.

Head to the colourful felt wall towards the back of the exhibition and create otherworldly creatures using the plush, spirit features provided in baskets and watch them take on their own personality as you stick them on the wall.

Or fall into the “Dreamspace” of colourful, sculptural cushions and soak in the mesmerising animations on the dedicated screen.

Finally, kids can create their very own magical hybrid creatures to take home at the craft stations where cut-out animal masks and spirit features as well as glue, scissors and markers are provided. This activity is designed to spark imagination with collaboration and community in mind - Mamma and the three year old absolutely loved creating our very own spirit animal together (with four noses of course).

Wall of Magic Creatures is running at Hawthorn Arts Centre from now until July 25. No bookings required, just show up and enjoy!
