There is so much to love about Victoria’s High Country, including the incredible villages and small towns. Stanley is one of the most beautiful spots and Planetrees is THE place to stay. This is luxury accommodation with the most exquisite gardens and grounds that we have ever seen. Host Genevieve has designed the most amazing oasis on her property and staying here is so relaxing.

There are two options for your stay. The artist studio is ideal for couples and small families (like us). Filled with fresh flowers from the grounds and the walls are all adorned with stunning art pieces, it is a great little home base for your visit. There is also the Lodge. This huge timber cabin sleeps up to ten and is ideal for an extended family getaway or a stay with a group of families. It has all the amenities you need for a large group.

What we loved the MOST were the grounds of the property. The two - hectare estate has been inspired by gardens from all over the world and its major feature is the natural swimming pool. This is a totally unique experience and feels just like swimming in a lake. The water is quite deep but before long the whole family will be grabbing a noodle and jumping in!

There is plenty of lawn to run around on, a giant chess set, bocce court and a dozen different places to sit with your feet up and take in the serenity. If you get the timing right with your visit there is also fruit trees and raspberry bushes that you can help with harvesting.

Genevieve (and her pups … you can’t forget about the dachshunds!) are the most generous hosts. She has a great passion not only for the estate and ensuring you have the greatest of stays, but she is a wealth of knowledge about the local town and community. You’ll have a wonderful time at Planetrees.
