peashooter toboggan slope - snow factory @ dinner plain
/Want to take the kids to experience the snow but without the skiing part? You have to check out Dinner Plain. This alpine village is ideal for families looking for snow play and toboggan fun!
The village toboggan run - the Peashooter Toboggan Slope - runs almost parallel to the main ski slope on the mountain and offers a kid-friendly space to race each other down the hillside. The area here is groomed and if the natural snow base is lacking (not a worry on our visit) the snow is topped up by the Snow Factory.
Conditions fluctuate with changes in weather and temperature throughout the snow season. On our visit, the snow was beautiful and powdered on top. Great for the adults who flew down the hill, but the kids did need an extra push at times. Word is, once it is more icy on top, speeds really do pick up!
Entry to the Peashooter is $10 per person with kids under 3 years free with a paying adult. You can bring your own plastic moulded toboggan or you can hire on the way up to the mountains or at the ticket office.
With no entry fee to visit Dinner Plain, it makes this a wonderful winter option for families.
