cinemas @ the memo, healesville

You KNOW Mamma is a fan of a hidden treasure, especially one that is hiding in plain sight! The Memo in Healesville is a big beautiful building, the hub of the town and the go-to for performances, celebrations and art. But did YOU KNOW that it is also a cinema? When there are no big performances in place, theatre uses the big screen to show movies - including kid friendly sessions!

Now, we are not talking big reclining seats BUT the seating is perfect for watching a film. There are 1 - 3 sessions a day depending on the current program, and often these are sensory friendly sessions with dim lighting and lowered volume, open captions for some screenings and even special viewings for Yarra Ranges Film Society members.

The movies shown are a wide range of films. At times, a kid blockbuster that has finished in the big cinema chains. Other times it may be an international film, an art house beauty or you can even send a request in! See what is showing HERE.

The Memo and The Art Centre Warburton share a screening program and both are a beautiful and quiet alternate that is perfect for bringing the kids to the cinemas.
