MoPA (museum of play and art), nunawading
/MoPA has opened their fourth venue in Nunawading and it is just as joyous as its counterparts. Located within Nunawading Homemaker HQ, you would never guess this massive dopamine hit is hiding inside. To find MoPA, go up the escalator and head straight for the giant pink paint drip - you can’t miss it!
Kids will love MoPA classics like their iconic multilevel cityscape cubby, VW beetle painting zone and ball chute enclosure.
With fresh favourites like the water play area (complete with rubber duckies!) and sound/lightscape rooms, little ones will find something new to delight the senses around every corner.
There are activities here to satisfy ever speed and interest. For those who want to let off a little steam, there are giant boxes that showcase playground classics to bounce, climb and swing on - think trampolines, monkey bars, climbing rope nets and a flying fox!
If the kids need to take a beat, head to the library (with story time included in every session) or pause and create a masterpiece at one of the multiple drawing and colouring in screens.
If there are super little ones in tow, the soft play area for under 2s is the perfect place for some safe and age appropriate exploration, safe from the pounding feet of enthusiastic bigger kids.
But don’t worry grown ups! MoPA hasn’t forgotten about you - sitting proudly on a platform at the back of the museum is their beautiful cafe. Churning out barista coffee, lunch packs and sweet treats, it’s a breeze to fuel up the kids before they go off to play again.
Like other MoPA sites, Nunawading also boasts a number of party rooms, fantastic family amenities (parents room, family bathrooms and ample space for prams) and direct lift access from the underground carpark.
Mamma says - bookings are essential as numbers are capped per session to ensure quality of play for all visitors.
