‘fernholme’ tarra valley caravan park, tarra valley

A popular spot with families, there is plenty to do in the valley of the Tarra Bulga National Park. Fernholme itself is surrounded by the beautiful Tarra River which is perfect to dip your toes in during the hot summer season, and there is a playground and majestic gardens for the kiddos to sneak around in - you will often spot a lyrebird scratching about! But if you don’t, the resident yabby, cockatoo and feeding tray attracts loads of king parrots and scarlet rosellas.

Mamma can relax with Dave’s famous Devonshire Tea (the scones are heavenly) and later when the sun sets, nothing beats a good marshmallow roasting session by the fire. There are powered and unpowered sites available with a shared BBQ shed, bathrooms (GREAT hot water and shower pressure by the way!) and dish washing area.

Or, if Mamma doesn’t want the hassle of pitching and packing the tent, there are a variety of wood cabins to stay in too. Either way you’ll be fully immersed in the sounds and sights of the absolutely breathtaking surroundings.

Mamma’s special mention: You can’t stay at Fernholme without visiting the various walking tracks and waterfalls a short drive away. Corrigan Suspension Bridge and Tarra Valley are both on the must-do list.
