Mamma’s catch of the day is Australian Rainbow Trout Farm in beautiful Macclesfield. Between the fish ponds, the playground, the roaming chickens and ducks and the gorgeous scenery - this trout farm is a kiddo’s paradise.

There are kid-sized fishing rods a plenty and little ones can head out to one of the many ponds to catch their fish of choice. Ponds vary in difficulty from easy to challenging, allowing options for a range of skill levels. Kids feeling the fish nibbling on the end of their line and then reeling in their very own catch will surely go down as a core memory.

Once the kiddos are content with their day’s spoils, fish can be taken to the kiosk just off the ponds, with options to clean, gut and fillet your fish at varying costs.

The car now packed with tonight’s dinner, it’s time to explore the rest of the grounds. There are dinosaur statues peppered throughout the property for kids to scale, retired tractors and ATVs for young ones to climb and several large playground structures to swing on and slide down. Walking free range through the property are several chickens, ducks and geese. Kiddos will enjoy having these friendly animals follow them on their day’s adventure.
