red gum cafe, templestowe
/Red Gum Cafe in Templestowe is an excellent spot for a Mamma catch up. With both indoor and outdoor play areas for the little ones, there’s a good chance of having some uninterrupted adult conversation.
The indoor area is a huge, welcoming space with plenty of tables, chairs and high chairs. There is even a kids’ table next to the play area. It is very well thought out, you can see the play area from every table and it’s at the other end of the entrance.
The play area consists of books, car table, prams, plush toys and, the piece de resistance - a MASSIVE soft climb structure. This climbing structure, including a slide, puzzles and obstacle courses, means Mamma gets the chance to enjoy her coffee while it’s hot.
Outside there is a very cool music wall with lots of instruments and other household items that will make lots of noise without bothering anyone. There is a slide entrance to a sandpit with lots of toys and cars. The big hit with Mamma’s two is always the wooden jeep that even has its own petrol pump.
The kitchen is currently running on a limited menu of drinks, cakes and pastries, however the cafe is that lovely that you are welcome to bring in your own lunchbox or some takeaway if you are in need of something more substantial.
