queens park, healesville

Hurrah! It is back open and it is wonderful!

Queens Park is loved by so many and this brand new playground upgrade has already been so well received.  The equipment has been designed to work with the existing trees and in autumn, the place simply glows! The park design is very much based in nature, including the indigenous features and there are lots of different textures and elements throughout. Lots of wooden finishes are found here and natural stone boulders and wooden logs act as barriers between play zones.

Speaking of play areas, there are stacks of zones to explore. From the wooden boardwalk with inbuilt bells, to the junior slide and swing set. There is an archway sculpture, dry creek bed, senior play structure with climbing frame and bridge, sand pit with a bubbler tap, a double flying fox plus a community swing circle. There are also stacks of little elements interwoven through the space too. See if the kids can spot the footprints! Mamma wonders who they could belong to?

We are super excited and thrilled that the playground is back open and is a perfect compliment to the wonderful bike track that you will find in the centre of the recreation zone.

Mamma's special mention: This entire zone is a wonderful community space, all within walking distance to the shops on main street as well as the delicious Innocent Bystander!

the nitty gritty
