quarry reserve, ferntree gully

Now this was an amazing surprise! Quarry Reserve in Ferntree Gully is quite simply …. beautiful. Tucked off behind the train lines and not visible from any of the main roads (which is probably why it has taken Mamma this long to find it), is this stunning outlook .
This urban parkland features a lake with the most breathtaking (especially when heading back up hill) sweeping trail, a fishing platform/jetty and wonderful vantage spots to take in the view of the cliff. At the base of the hill you can walk along the jetty to get up close to the birdlife and try your best to spot a fish or two. The water is very clear in the shallows! You never know your luck.
The most recent addition is the nature inspired playground. The wooden features that are surrounded by sand, looks wonderful and the twin slides which use the fall of the hill side is just genius.

Mamma's special mention: Looking for coffee? Down on Burwood Highway you’ll find Lorna and Hochi Mini. Perfect cafe choices!

**Mamma has been told that parking has become an issue. If you can’t safely park, come back another time**
