Adults of a certain age *cough* this Mamma *cough* will remember heading to the video store on the weekend with the fam and walking the aisles in search of the perfect vhs for movie night. Sadly a ritual that has been lost to time and streaming services, Picture Search is the place to relive those memories today!

Open since 1983, Picture Search boasts over 40,000 DVDs, Blue Rays and VHS all available to hire, with new titles added every week. The owner, Derek, has been the shop’s custodian for the last 25 years and to say this place is a labour of love is an understatement. As the sole worker here, you will find Derek behind the counter 10 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Titles cover almost every surface in this shop. Floor to ceiling movies and tv shows across three levels means that there is sure to be something here for every age and interest. From the mainstream, to obscure and those nostalgic watches from childhood that seem to slip through the cracks of streaming services - it’s all here

Mamma’s 3 year old had no idea where he was but the awe on his face was undeniable as even the littlest can appreciate the volume and scale of what Derek has achieved here. Almost as if it was generational muscle memory Mamma’s son started flicking through cases that were colourful enough to attract his little eyes and fingers. Mamma loves to see it.
