At the base of Mt Buller and Mt Sterling is the most beautiful picnic spot. The Deletite River runs right along this parkland and you are going to want to have a splash but do be warned - although it is stunning - it is ICY cold!
Beside the river you can use this place to have a toilet stop and a play in the park before you head up to the ski resorts. You’ll find swings, slides and a few rockers to get the wriggly back seat passengers ready to get in the car again.
The tiny town of Mirimbah has a great general store and has all you need to grab some lunch, some fuel and even a perfect picnic spread (or a lamington to keep the little kids happy!). The service is friendly and the crew have great local knowledge if you are after some extra adventures nearby!
