halliday park, mitcham

It is always special to bring your little ones to the places you spent your childhood growing up. Halliday Park (or holiday park if you lived in our house) is one of those special places, only difference is, now its even better. The playspace has had a facelift and is a perfect place to play, especially on one of those warm days. The park boast it's own waterplay section with a simple set up that will delight the ones that love to splash. A creek bed (artificial so no slippery or sharp rocks) that has two adjustable dam walls and a slow pump tap at the beginning. Muscles are needed to turn the pump but then let the puddles and magic flow! Its easy to lose a good hour in this park exploring the creek bed and learning to jump! The rest of the park is great as well, including the brilliant double flying foxes, in ground trampoline bouncer, toddler equipment and a swinging hammock - I am sure that was installed just for the Mamma. Explore the open field towards Mitcham Road and climb the oak trees, dreaming of Alice in Wonderland, reading a good book up in the branches.

Mamma's special mentions: As always with water play bring a towel and change of clothes even if you think you won't need it. Mitcham Primary is right next door, so it can get crazy busy after bell time! But if you are there in the morning cruse on down to the Mabel down off Quarry Road for a babycino and cuppa.
