bankside park, rowville

Mamma loves a playground that has been designed for everybody and Bankside Park in Rowville’s new Bankside Estate ticks a lot of boxes!

The greenhouse inspired play structure at its centre pays homage to the surrounding wetlands and landscape. With shaded areas, green space to run around, multi purpose court and a pump track - this is one to carve out a few hours for.

From the playgrounds main structure stems a lot of other play opportunities - there are mezzanine levels to explore, rock climbing walls, multiple slides, a wide ramp to allow access for prams and wheelchairs and (where we spent most of our time) a double flying fox.

There is plenty closer to the ground for little ones to explore too. Under a substantial shade cloth, kids can enjoy the seesaw, swings, another slide, mounds, boulders and logs to traverse and the sweetest little blackboard wall complete with letter box for chalk donations.

Towards the unshaded pump track and multi purpose court, kids can enjoy the in-ground trampoline, large climbing boulder, water pump and inclusive carousel.

With undercover picnic tables, BBQ facilities and - yes, toilets, this is one of those playgrounds you can spend a whole afternoon at.
