tram xpresso, mt evelyn — mamma knows east

There is a NEW … and old … tram in Mt Evelyn. Tram Xpresso has opened in front of the Mt Evelyn Garden Centre on York Road. This classic Melbourne W Class rattler has been restored and lovingly located out in the east.

There is nothing more exciting for a kid than being able to eat their meal INSIDE a tram. The tram has been converted into a dining cart of sorts, with long skinny tables, but has retained all the old charm, the bouncy brown seats and old adverts on the ceiling. Once you have ordered at the counter, find your seats and let the imagination take over.

The crew here are the BEST - so friendly and kind with the kids. This guy even got his Tram Driver Certificate after ‘driving’ the tram after finishing his meal. DING-DING!

Mamma’s special mention: Once you have eaten, be sure to explore the garden centre on the same site. There have some brilliantly priced seedlings and plants just waiting to be taken home. Plus there is a little jungle gym here too
