If you find yourself down the Hawthorn end of Glenferrie Rd, be sure to turn into the arcade that leads to Glenferrie station. There, you’ll find Gottis - every Swedish candy lovers dream come true.
Besides the colourful signage on the facade, this place is pretty unassuming from the outside - it’s not until you walk in and down a handful of steps that you find the glorious pick ‘n’ mix candy wall, filled with weird and wonderful Swedish sweets.
Grab a bag and a scoop then go nuts. From eye watering sour straps and bizarre salted liquorice to the iconic Bubs candy and Swedish fish - here, you will find a unique selection of sweets that are otherwise hard to come by in Australia.
Hot tip - handing a three year old a scoop and a bag to do as he pleases is potentially a big and expensive mistake when visiting a pay and weigh establishment - a literal kid in a candy store, they can not/will not be stopped.
