baker of things, richmond

You know you have hit the jackpot when everything in the display cabinet is drool worthy. From the immaculate cakes to the stunning savouries, Baker Of Things is going to become you new favourite spot for a little sweet treat!

You’ll find this cute little bakery in the back streets of Richmond, right over the road from Mile End Bagels. Behind the roller doors is the most impeccable spread and Mamma has two words for you - GOOD LUCK! Good luck at just choosing just one item on your plate.

The citrus layer cake is a stand out with so many levels and ask the crew how they make it. It is pretty clever! The kids will love the cookies and coffee is spot on (fun fact: their beans are from Maker Coffee, located just down the road).

But Mamma’s honest tip, and what has been keeping her tastebuds tingling ever since she first visited - the finger bun. Now, from the outside this looks like your regular kid treat but oh no-no-no-no! This beautiful oval shaped, pink glazed with sprinkles-on-top magnificent piece of pastry is filled with the most perfect whipped cream and a blackcurrant filling. The photo above does it no justice at all, so you MUST visit for yourself!

Mamma's special mention: Citizens Park is within walking distance and the bagels are great as takeaway. Sounds like a great park and cafe option if you ask Mamma!
