mont de lancey, wandin north

There is a beautiful garden and historical property, placed high on the hill in Wandin North. Mont De Lancey has some of the most incredible views of the Yarra Valley and is a great place to wander and learn about the past as a family.

The property was the original home to the Sebire family and today has been preserved by the locals as a historical time capsule. The gardens and buildings are just as beautiful as they were in the 1880s and the site hosts a number of event days throughout the year celebrating many of the lost trades.

Tours run Wednesdays to Sundays and will give you an insight in to life in years gone by. You can also explore the outsides of the grounds and there is a donation box which you are encouraged to contribute as a token of appreciation of the venue.

Mamma's special mention: The homestead has a recent addition - a great cafe - Two Peas in Their Pod. It is super family friendly with seating inside and out near the wonderful gardens. They even pop out some lawn games for the kids!
