winter school holidays in whitehorse

Beat school holiday boredom with fun activities from Whitehorse’s Winter School Holiday Program. There’s plenty of entertaining and affordable experiences for the kids to discover. Whether their passion is sport, arts, environmental, history or something the whole family can enjoy together!

Mamma has checked through the program and has made a short list of her top picks:

  • Strathdon House and Orchard Precinct art classes and workshops including mud pies, magic potions and sensory nature play, woodworking, card making, all day art sessions, weaving, pompom art and and family clay activities.

  • You Are A Doughnut live family show showing at Box Hill Town Hall on Saturday 24 June. Join Oesoph A. Gus and Dewey Dean in an all-singing, all-dancing, all-clowning exploration of sensational science.

  • FREE Kelly Sports in Mitcham and Box Hill. Get active with basketball, soccer, and pop-up games at Britannia Mall. Free events, no booking required.

  • Make a splash at Aqualink. The Chillzone will be up and running with inflatables and Tarzan ropes at both Nunawading (plus there is always the splash pad for the younger kids at Box Hill).

  • FREE Schwerkolt Cottage tours on Sundays. Jump on a guided tour to learn how the house was built, what pioneer life was like and the history of the Schwerkolt family. PLUS Get inspired by the Box Hill Hand Spinners and Weavers at Schwerkolt Museum. See the spinning wheels and drop spindles in action. July 2nd.

  • The ever popular Box Hill Community Arts Centre classes and workshops are BACK! Jump online to book a session.

  • There is a bunch of great sport camps and clinics run at Sportlink and Aqualink (all locations) to try your hand at netball, basketball and table tennis. OR hire your own court to shoot your own hoops!
