spring school holidays in whitehorse

Whitehorse's Spring School Holiday Program offers entertaining experiences to keep you and your crew busy during the holidays. The kids can explore a variety of fun and reasonably priced activities. No matter if sports, the arts, the environment, history - the whole family can enjoy it together!

Mamma has checked through the program and has made a short list of her top picks:

  • At the Strathdon House and Orchard Precinct there are classes and workshops to assist learning practical life skills, being creative and celebrating seasons of the Kulin Nation. These include woodworking, drawing, frog workshops, wildcrafting and theatre sports. Bookings essential.

  • The Alphabet of Awesome Science Show performing at Box Hill Town Hall on Wednesday September 28. Join prank-pulling professors Lexi Con and Noel Edge for a thrilling voyage through the alphabet. This fun family show full of scientific surprises is explosive, messy, spectacular, hilarious and gross. Tickets on sale now.

  • FREE Environmental Education classes at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve and Abbey Walk - learn about nature’s homes and see how local birds and animals make their nests and burrows in tree hollows and more. Bookings essential

  • Drop-by Drawing at Artspace at Box Hill Town Hall. Pop in for some FREE fun drawing activities where kids will be inspired by the 'Kangaroo Clouds and Cotton Ducks' exhibition by Jeff Gardner.

  • Make a splash at Aqualink. The Chillzone will be up and running with inflatables and Tarzan ropes at both Nunawading and Box Hill (plus there is always the splash pad for the younger kids at Box Hill or the diving pool for the bigger ones!)

  • Schwerkolt Cottage are running FREE Chatterbox for kids - a hunt for treasure around Schwerkolt Cottage and the Museum.  Collect your chatterbox and search the site using the clues provided for an old fashioned reward. Head here on weekends.

  • The ever popular Box Hill Community Arts Centre classes and workshops are BACK! Jump online to book a session. There are clay sessions, print making, drawing and more.

  • There is a bunch of great hire your own space at Sportlink and Aqualink to practice your netball, basketball, badminton or table tennis skills.
