greater dandenong children’s festival 2022

During the spring school holidays, Greater Dandenong Children's Festival 2022 invites you to take a walk on the wild side. The festival, now in its 11th year, has nature and sustainability as its theme.

You are all invited to browse the jam-packed schedule of great nature-themed events from September 17 through October 2. Planting days, bush food walks, and native wildlife workshops are great ways to learn more about Greater Dandenong's stunning natural areas. Participate in community gardening events and learn how to create stunning recycled art. Build your imagination at a fun animal cartooning course and a creative writing class at Alex Wilkie Nature Reserve.

At Drum Theatre's music and drama workshops, your children can discover their natural musical talent and inner stage star. The Exhibition Hall at Springvale Hub will host a special exhibition of children's art.

Deckchair Movies are back at Harmony Square in Dandenong and Springvale Community Hub on weekdays (except for the Grand Final Public Holiday) with an exciting program of nature and adventure themed family films.

But what Mamma is most excited about - The festival’s headline event Little Day Out is BACK in person at Ross Reserve, Noble Park on Sunday, 18 September from 11am to 4pm.

This free family event will include thrilling stage performances, dynamic roving performers, fascinating native wildlife displays, arts and crafts, face painting, storytelling, exciting rides, fun sporting activities, food and market stalls, and much more!
