autumn school holidays in whitehorse

Stay entertained with the Autumn School Holiday Program happening in Whitehorse! They've got a range of fun and affordable activities, including Easter egg hunts, sports, arts and crafts, music, history and things the family can enjoy together.

Mamma has checked through the program and has made a short list of her top picks:

  • The Beanies EGG-straordinary Day at the Box Hill Town Hall. As seen on ABC Kids TV, The Beanies are live on stage! The Beanies are ready to play with you! Come sing, dance and laugh in their giant box fort. But little do they know, they’re about to face their biggest challenge ever – BABYSITTING…or should we say “egg-sitting”.. Tickets on sale NOW for Tuesday 18 April.

  • FREE Moonlight Movie Night - Puss in Boots: The Last Wish! The big screen under the stars, ice cream in hand, just around the corner in your neighbourhood park. Tote your bean bag, your picnic blanket or your low-rider chairs down to the Gardens. Saturday 9 April

  • FREE Heritage Hunt at Schwerkolt Cottage. Hunt for chocolate Easter eggs in the garden at Schwerkolt Cottage. You can then explore food on the farm on the heritage hunt. Saturday 8 April

  • FREE Orchard Sounds Concert. A lovely afternoon at the gorgeous, green Orchard Grove Reserve in Blackburn South, enjoying quality live music and a picnic. Sunday 16 April

  • FREE YomeciBand at Box Hill Mall. Walk and play with the musical chalk creatures of YomeciBand! Passers-by are invited to step, jump, skip, dance and walk on clusters of colourful Yumeka creatures, activating sounds and tunes as they ‘play’ the track with their feet. Thursday 20 April

  • Kids in the Garden: Micro Greens and Sprouts at Strathdon House and Orchard Precinct. Learn how to grow your own micro greens and sprouts for salads and sandwiches. Sprouts and Microgreens are the quickest food crops to grow, they’re packed full of nutrients and can be grown indoors all year round! This workshop will encourage kids to take an interest in how our food is grown and learn different ways to increase their nutrient intake. Thursday 20 April. Bookings essential.

  • A whole range of great art activities at Box Hill Community Arts Centre. This community centre is famous for their wonderful range of great school holiday art activities. From programs working with clay, painting, weaving or drawing, there is bound to be a session that will help unlock the inner artist. Programs run from Monday 11 April - Saturday 23 April
