playgroup in focus - edgers creek bush playgroup, coburg north

Calling all bush buddies and nature kids - has Mamma got the spot for you! Edgers Creek reserve is pretty well known for its wildlife and this is no ordinary typical play ground here, rather there are all kinds of natural things to explore. There are two handmade 'bush cubbies' built by the local children, a car wheel a favourite for little ones and a make shift swing too.

Then there is the Edgars Creek Bush Playgroup! This wonderful group was created with families north of Bell Street in mind.

With a natural space to gather with like-minded families who place importance on outdoor, unstructured, risk-taking, nature play, environmental and sustainable consciousness.

The weekly programs are created with the whole family in mind place an equal importance on the well-being of mothers, fathers and carers.
Each week Edgers Creek Bush Playgroup encourage unstructured play, following the children's interests and believe the space provides that connection to nature, exploration and risk-in-play.

This is an all-weather playgroup as Sir Ranulph Fiennes said, "there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing"

The creek itself is a beautiful place to explore as a family with many tracks woven through the parkland. Be on the look out or native wildlife. The Edgars Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians in the suburb of Thomastown, an inner northern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. It leads to the historic village of Westgarthtown.
