wilson reserve, ivanhoe

There are SO many trails and beautiful places to discover, especially along the Yarra River. This life blood of Wurundjeri land and icon of Melbourne, is a majestic body of water that we just love to visit. Wilson Reserve in Ivanhoe provides a great vantage point, as well as being a nice place for a family friendly walk or bike ride in the bush.

The trail is flat and leads on from the off-street carpark, accessed from The Boulevard. You could easily bring the bikes or compete the roughly 1 km loop on foot with your family. You’ll stroll under stunning gum trees, discover hidden wetlands and end up back at the park for a super slide!

Mamma’s special mention: There are LOADS of places we love to visit to access the Yarra. From the Studley Park Boathouse or the Fairfield Boathouse, up further at Laughing Waters in Eltham, feeding the ducks at Warrandyte, searching for roos at Mt Lofty or all the way up in Warburton.
