The decommissioned Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum in Beechworth hold more than ghost tours. It’s the home of the Mayday Escape Rooms. These puzzle rooms are fully immersive and are an incredible amount of fun. Mamma and crew gave The Pharmacy escape room a test drive and it was equal parts challenging and exciting.

The game starts even on the walk to the old original buildings, where the Matron (in full character) will assort you to the pharmacy and set you on your mission - to solve the mystery of suspicious behaviour from Dr. Bradshaw, all before he returns for his shift at the hospital!

The challenges include some mathematics, some logic puzzles, code braking - and some good old common sense. We had a few clues handed our way in this room, but we were able to get the door open with 7 minutes to spare.

The joy on the kids faces as they raced around the room trying different theories and testing all the props was pretty magical, and on our next trip to Beechworth, we will certainly give the Butcher Shop a go!
