apteds orchards, arthurs creek
/Set on a sprawling 1400 acre property, Apteds Orchards in stunning Arthurs Creek is the perfect setting for a spot of apple picking.
Upon arrival, kiddos will be amazed at the range of games to play on the sprawling lawns. From Connect Four, to a sandpit full of diggers, there are little stations to captivate any budding fruit picker as they take in the beauty of the property around them.
The kids’ area is adjacent to the sunflower patch, where kiddos can roam amongst these golden beauties, and take home a stem for $1.
The highlight of the kids’ area for Mamma’s two is absolutely the tractor and trailer. The kiddos love climbing aboard the vintage, red machine and take turns climbing in and out of the attached trailer, role playing being fruit farmers and harvesting their day’s yield.
Then, it’s time to collect a basket and hit the orchards. There is so much fruit for the picking and the lovely family at Apteds don’t mind if little ones take a bite (or two) of their delicious fruit as they make their way through the orchards and fill their baskets.
Mamma’s two are still raving about the juicy, Golden Delicious apples they snacked on as they walked and Mamma can absolutely vouch for the Pink Ladies - they are spectacular.
At the bottom of the hill sits the pear tree grove. It is like stepping into a fairytale wandering this gorgeous pocket of the property. The pears are crisp and delicious, perfect for snacking and cooking!
The orchard operates a u-pick experience for 6 months of the year, including apples, pears and cherries when in season.
Once the fruit baskets are full (or overflowing!), it’s back up the hill to the gift shop where pickers can browse the beautiful array of local, handmade produce on offer.
So grab a picnic rug, pack the car and head to Apteds Orchards for a stunning afternoon that your little ones are sure to love.
