Wattle Park is as east as you can get! This much loved patch of greenery in the middle of suburbia is filled with classic memories and it is mostly because of those trams. Making themselves at home in the centre of this urban bush, are two W-class trams. The insides have been gutted and replaced with picnic benches. It’s pretty cool.
The other wonderful features of Wattle Park are the twin wooden playgrounds. One is more junior than the other, but Mamma’s 2 year old loves both. You’ll find lots of ramps leading up to twists and turns on the structures. There are some cute painted treasures throughout, making it a pretty unique playground.
Beside all the fun stuff, you’ll also find perfect bush play areas where some playgroups have fun making bush cubbies, creating art and enjoying the great outdoors. In the same site is a golf club with a cafe at the club house, outdoor stage, walking trails and an old beautiful chalet.
Mamma's special mention: Unfortunately this area can be a target for vandals, so Mamma will always do a quick visual for any dangerous items before the kids run off, especially around the trams. There are no bins in the area so remember to come rubbish free or take it all back home with you.
