steamfest @ national steam centre, scoresby

It’s not everyday that this steam museum comes to life. But every Labour Day long weekend, the National Steam Museum kicks into gear. Everything from models of trains, heavy machinery, visiting enthusiasts and vintage cars will be on display. You’ll see young and old exploring the grounds in Scoresby over the three day event, watching things whirr into life and awake from their steamy slumber. The parade grounds is where the machines show off their moves, but the best way to see all that is on offer at the centre, is on the back of the miniature train! There is lots to see and explore so pop down for a couple of hours of steam powered fun. Although the kids can’t climb on all the machines, they are still pretty cool to look at!

Mamma’s Special Mention: The Centre does open every weekend 11am - 4pm. Trains only run on Sundays and the ‘running days’ for the equipment is on the last Sunday of the month.
