wendy's, dandenong south
/Move over Pippi Longstocking, there’s a new braided red head in town. Yes, that’s right - America’s iconic fast food restaurant Wendy’s has landed in Dandenong South and the people of Melbourne have shown up in DROVES.
Mamma has never seen traffic control employed at a fast food drive-thru but that’s just how enamoured Melbournians have become with the purveyor of frosties and square patties.
The restaurant is predominantly self service, with a number of kiosks set up to the left of the dining area. Grab a seat (if you can) and keep an eye on the tv screens which will let you know where your order is in line.
Mamma and the fam opted for a couple of kids burger meals, a spicy chicken burger, Baconmator, chicken tenders, loaded fries and of course… a round of chocolate Frosties. And yes, Mamma did have to have a lie down afterwards, thanks for asking.
Though it will probably calm down sooner or later, be prepared to line up for a burger here for the time being. Whether you’re looking to dine in or grabbing your order to go, the line for this place can be long… but to their credit, Mamma has to say, Wendy’s run a tight ship.
The line moves relatively quickly, orders are prepared at a steady rate, staff are extremely attentive and for a restaurant with such a high turnover-over of foot traffic - the place is remarkably clean.
