Ok Mammas, sometimes it’s time to get a little bit fancy, and Una Una in Box Hill is the perfect spot to do just that. Owner Sam’s vision is to bring a fine-dining experience usually reserved for the city to the East, and how lucky are we to have this gourmet spot right on our doorstep.

Cosy cafe by day and fine-dining bistro by night, Una Una offers something for everybody. During the daytime, their focus is seriously good coffee and delicious focaccias made fresh everyday. In the evenings, the cafe transforms into an intimate, sophisticated space specialising in haute-cuisine and locally-sourced ingredients.

Mamma will admit she was a little apprehensive about taking her little ones to a fine dining experience. But owner Sam immediately put us at ease. A father to two little ones himself, Sam understands what it’s like dining with young kids and this is precisely what drives his passion. Sam wants kids to be able to experience good, real food and Mamma’s little ones delighted at how the staff engaged them and brought them delicious meals and seriously good drinks.

Mamma and the little ones are still drooling over the lamb katsu cutlets and the housemade fries with cheese sauce. While Mr Mamma still raves about the chargrilled calamari served with chilli sauce over a fennel salad and says he still dreams about the roasted duck breast - this is an absolute must-try.

Una Una is the perfect spot for a loaded sanga by day, or an intimate date by night. With speciality drinks and cocktails to boot, it’s the perfect spot to get a little bit fancy.
