rowena corner store, richmond

When a local milkbar-slash-cafe has been in the area for sixty plus years, they must know what they are doing. This stand alone cafe down a cobblestone lined sidestreet is part of local folklore and is famous for its incredible food. Mamma gets the real community vibe at Rowena too. The owners know the regulars by name and it felt as if EVERYONE knew each other as they sipped their coffee greek treats. There are little touches in every corner that make Rowena family friendly and completely adorable. The vintage signage, the old school ladders to pick supplies from the top shelf and the twist in the straws so even little ones can reach without having to stand on their seats. There is inside and outside dining options - just mind the staff as you head through the kitchen to the outdoor enclosed courtyard. There really isn't any place quite like Rowena. You will never know who you will bump into while you are there!

Mamma's special mention: If you are a tigers fan - like you know this Mamma is - you will find Dusty on the side wall outside!
