Don't you just love when you find a place that ticks all the boxes for a catch up with other mums. A place where there is hot food, strong coffee and room to bring all the prams around a table. A place that has a stack of high chairs, a corner full of toys, with space to play, and a library next door. Plus a place that has a magnificent green lawn outside, beautiful views of the Yarra Valley and walking access to Lillydale Lake. Every one of these can be said about Point Of View Cafe in Lilydale.
Hidden in the main building of the Lakeside campus of The Box Hill Institute, this cafe will be where you head to with your mums group, once you have outgrown the health centre. OR for coffee with a buddy while your bubs are happy in the pram. OR where to refuel with a milkshake as a reward for having an awesome time at story time (held at the library at 2pm on Wednesdays for babies (under 12 months), plus 10am for toddlers and 11:30 for the whole family on Fridays).
Mamma's special mention: The campus and the cafe is accessible by foot from the Lake, at the far north-west corner of the trail, not far from the dog off-leash zone. Otherwise, drive into the campus and aim for the building to the left of the driveway and park at the rear!
Enter the Lakeside Campus from Melba Ave and head to first large building on the left at the roundabout
