When riding with kids, there is some key criteria that we look for. Flat paths, far enough away from the road, places to stop along the way and some fun things to see. Olinda Creek Trail ticks lots of these boxes for us!
The trail follows along the Olinda Creek, as well as Swansea Road. The trail is flat gravel path, perfect for bikes and walking. We love finding a bridge to cross, some cute farm animals to say hi to and some spots to watch the world go by. The stretch of trail is 1.6km in length from Hull Rd to York Road in Montrose. The storm that hit in July 2021 has changed the landscape quite dramatically. The landscape is much more open than it used to be. It’s a real sight to see.
There is an off street car park along the main trail, or you might park near Hull Road and start your ride from here. For even more space to ride, cross the road safely and work your way through the wetlands and you’ll end up, eventually, at Lillydale Lake.
