If you are looking for somewhere fun to take the kids that won't break the bank Edendale Farm is just the place! This beautiful little Community Farm is set on 7 hectares of Land adjacent to the Diamond Creek in Eltham, and has paddocks full of super friendly animals you can enjoy for the cost of a gold coin donation.

Look out for the chicken feed stations dotted around the farm where you can grab a newspaper pouch full of seed. See if you can spot the cute little dotty chickens with the fluffy feet. These are mama's favourite!

You can also pat a goat, give a handful of hay to the calves, wave to the sheep, check out the worm farm, and try to spot the blue tongue lizards. As you wander the farm you will also get the opportunity to learn about all things sustainability such as recycling and composting which is really cool too.

There is a small cafe onsight that offers a variety of simple lunch options, as well as some lovely sweet treats 7 days a week. Or if you fancy bringing your own 'rubbish free' picnic, there's lots of lawn areas where you can roll out your blanket, and enjoy lunch in the sunshine.

For a bit of extra fun, just down the path from the cafe, you will find a sandpit under some great big trees that are also great for climbing. And make sure you pack your gumboots in winter for jumping in muddy puddles too.
