Summer means CHERRIES! And you can’t miss the opportunity to pick your own. Cherryhill Orchards now have 2 locations for picking - in Wandin and here in Coldstream. This orchard is HUGE. Rows upon rows of beautiful cherry trees, producing the beautiful sweet red fruit that tells Mamma that Christmas must be on its way!

A visit to the orchard is a family friendly adventure. Once you check in at the main building, you will board a mini bus that will take you to the BEST trees on the day for picking. The crew show us what you are looking for when you pick and then off you go! The kids can fill a bucket and eat their hearts out. You are looking for the deep red cherries, ones with no splits (or what we call ‘bums’) in the bottom and keep the stem on if you can.

You pay for what you pick (calculated by weight) at the end of your session and you can have up to 2 hours in the orchard … although we needed about 40 minutes. Once you have enough, the bus returns to the main paddock where you’ll find a cherry filled shop, an ice-cream-slash-coffee caravan and a pizza truck! You must try the frozen yoghurt, complete with a cherry on top!

Mamma’s special mention: This is the second U-Pick from Cherryhill (open later in the season - 27th November) that you will find in the Yarra Valley. Their original location is found in Wandin East and is where we fell in love with cherry picking!
