yarra bank reserve playground, hawthorn

Mamma loves a local playground, especially one with water and nature play!

Yarra Bank Reserve - not surprisingly - is located right on the banks of the Yarra River in Hawthorn, and has just undergone a major renovation. It features brand new play equipment, including a cool rowing sculpture where kids can ‘row’ a giant canoe, a water pumping facility where kids can pump water into a mini river built into a rock, and an awesome music installation where you can push different buttons built into wooden poles to create different musical sounds.

It’s HUGE for a street playground and has so many interactive play features - Mamma could easily spend a whole afternoon here! The playground will be particularly epic in summer with the water features.

Mamma’s Special Mention: there is ample fencing (currently being built) around the playground and picnic area, making this a super safe playspace.

The nitty gritty
