victoria park, kew

It’s been a long time in the making but it is HERE … the NEW Victoria Park in Kew is OPEN and the Boroondara locals have already given it a massive thumbs up!

Victoria Park play space is now a giant playground that utilises the space oh so well. There are HEAPS of places and opportunities for play, the kids won’t know where to start! Maybe begin on the giant tunnel slide that lives on the original bluestone. Head to the shaded sandpit complete with water pump. Explore the bamboo forest OR head to the inbuilt trampolines.

There is a ninja style warped wall (which the kids naturally line up to take it in turns to get to the top) and fitness equipment for both young and old. But the highlight (which does require Mamma to be a little more prepared for next visit) is the bike-slash-scooter pump track. This very popular area is bound to be spinning with kids for many years to come.

There are lots of beautiful nature elements throughout the play space too - we lost count on the number of possums we found and the tawny frogmouths that are making themselves at home in the gardens. The new development has been able to work around the existing trees and where there is extra sunny areas, you will find shade cloth.

We are big fans of this one.
