We love a brand new playground and this one has a pretty big challenge in store.

R. D. Egan Lee Reserve had some major renos over lockdown and a beautiful playground has emerged. You’ll find cool balancing beams, lots of nature play, a junior cubby with slide and cute friendly rockers (We’ve never seen a rock n roll snail before!). There is also the fitness equipment here too - all nice and close and not tucked away - making it possible to watch the kids while you hang out here if you wish.

But the biggest challenge that we discovered is in the large tower. All kids love the slide and the higher the better for Mamma’s 3 year old, however, to conquer this one, you have to climb on the OUTSIDE to get there. You can climb using the hand holes and then through the window (it is giving Mamma plenty of Rapunzel vibes) OR use the ladder and make a daring stretch (yep … hold your breath kinda leap) into another window. Although right now … this will be scary for some … Mamma KNOWS after a couple of tries … and as the kids grow into it … AND they will just LOVE this challenge.

Mamma’s special mention: Pack your hats! Although tucked within a bushy zone, there is not a heap of shade over the playground just yet, so remember to slip, slop, slap!
