It can be argued that every shopping centre NEEDS a playground. One that can be used as a carrot on a string so Mamma can get the stuff she needs done at the shops. OR just an option of having something nearby without another ride in the car.
Westfield Knox is currently under renovations and part one of the upgrades includes this nature inspired outdoor playground. This is on the north side of the shopping centre and located near ALDI (if you are imagining the old version Knox - it’s roughly where you would come in under the food court at the Myer end of the centre).
The playground is two levels and has a slide that is the shape of a bird, with its eggs stored safely nearby. There are logs to balance on, some swinging seats and then you can climb up the tree into its nest or up the giant leaf in the platform above.
From up here you have some amazing views, but also some hidie holes to explore and eggs to have a rest on! The area up here is physically contained with a pool fence, so once they are at the top, kids will need to come back down via the twisty slide or use the climbing frame, or head up the stairs beside to rescue the crew.
It is a rare occasion that Mamma didn’t have her kiddos with her so it hasn’t been given a proper test drive so we will have to report back soon with an update!
