highfield park, camberwell

Seems the knights went into hiding during lockdown and a DRAGON has escaped, making its way to a brand NEW castle at Highfield Park in Camberwell. Lucky for the kiddos, this fire breathing monster is super friendly and an ideal structure to climb over, under and through!
This playground upgrade is a total winner. The main structure is a wooden framed castle, with one end great for the climbing kids and the other lower end perfect for the younger ones, with a staircase and double slide. Other things we love include the spinning wheel, the huge climbing nets, the picnic tables and grassy patches for picnics, as well as the ‘expression swing’ - toddler in one side, parent on the other.
The play area is fenced (with a gate!) on the car park side and the playground is well contained in the corner of the footy ground. Oh and how can we forget - check out this EPIC shade sail!  Those wings are going to be super helpful in the summer months.

Mamma’s special mention: The local cafe Dish and Spoon is walking distance down the road. Coffee is spot on and the sandwiches are perfect for a picnic lunch.

the nitty gritty

picnic tables - green space - footy oval - mostly fenced - no toilets (that we could see) - shade - expression swing - bbqs - off street parking (narrow in parts) - cafe nearby
