lyon housemuseum galleries, kew

If there is one building that has caught Mamma’s attention in recent times, it is this one. The Lyon Housemuseum. This impeccably designed home has now opened its neighbouring art space - the Lyon Housemuseum Galleries. This independent gallery is open to the public and showcases some amazing and spectacular art pieces.

The gallery’s first exhibition - Enter - is running until July 21, 2019 and has made an impressive start. From a giant silver globe, a gallery filled with white, triple-headed creatures and a play-as-you-please skateboarding piece - there are lots of things to look at. Mamma’s kids love watching the cyclone doors open and close by an invisible figure, watching a tightrope walker make words out of paint pots, as well as trying on the most amazing coats. It is a venue where you may quickly discover how loud your children are, as the sound reverberates around the room. It is, however, a great opportunity to take in some incredible art pieces and introduce modern art to the family.

Mamma’s special mention: This gallery space is open 6 days a week, with no bookings required, although for a real treat, book in for a tour of the Lyon Housemueseum itself. There are only selected days in the year that this operates (and sorry, no kids under 12 permitted to visit in here), so register your interest online for updates on tour dates.
