mcalpin reserve, ringwood north

McAlpin Park is a beautiful spot to spend the afternoon with the family for a play in the playground, waddle around with the ducks and cut laps on the bikes and scooters. This reserve is immaculately kept with stunning gardens, and is filled with sprawling lawns for ball games and picnics. The playground is classically designed and you will find your standard equipment here. Slides, swings, monkey bars and climbing pyramid. But I doubt the kids will want to play here for ages when there are plenty of paved trails to ride on and trees to explore.

Mamma spent so many hours playing here as a kid and is a park we visited so often we gave it our own name. To our family - this is Magpie park! I guess you get swooped once and the name sticks! So fair warning, come spring time, if you are riding your bike make sure you have your helmets on.

Mamma's special mention: The reserve is an autumn lover's dream! The colours are incredible and make the perfect backdrop to any family portrait.
