world fare @ dandenong market, dandenong

Mamma loves visiting the market. The hustle and bustle of the locals grabbing a bargain and the freshest of fresh with produce and cuisines from all over the world. The Dandenong Market LOVE this too and are celebrating all the incredible flavours you can find in this market place with the eighth annual Dandenong Market World Fare.

On Sunday March 24, as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, there will be over 50 different street food traders offering unique and at times, exotic, dishes for the punters. How do Ube Champorado, a purple yam-flavoured rice porridge from Manila sound? Or a Seychelles specialty of Creole Octopus Curry. Or maybe, like Mamma, you will stick with Xian Lim Chen’s famous dumplings. On top of the great food, there will be a pop-up bar from Melbourne’s own Craft & Co, serving beer and spirits as well as your classic boards.

The stage is set for a fabulous day, plus plenty of live entertainment from all over the globe. Dance troops will be amongst the crowds with much so colour and life - you may not know where to look! The kids can enjoy free face painting, traditional ta moko rides and more.

Mamma's special mention: A pram with storage is ALWAYS a good idea when visiting ANY market, especially one as hustling and bustling as this one! AND remember to bring the coins along for the parking onsite.
