There is something really special about this place. It could because Mamma loves the history. It could be because of the awesome playspace out the front. Or it could be the milkshakes! Federation Estate in Ringwood is a community space that is the original site of Ringwood Primary School. The main school buildings are still standing including the brickwork with student and teacher names around and elm tree (I went searching for your name Mrs Gordon!). The buildings are used for meetings now as well as Mini Maestros lessons, and there is the stunning art space - Maroondah Access Gallery - at the front of the building too. But more importantly, there is a gorgeous little cafe - Estate Cafe - with play area to the side! Play kitchen, kids furniture and some toys included. Great for a milkshake break - with a lid - genius!
Mamma's special mention: You can't come to Federation Estate without exploring the sensory playspace out the front. Aptly named Amazing Space, you will find little delights for all the senses - just maybe not taste - Or is that in the cafe?
