Breathtaking is one way to describe the Burnham Beeches Bakery and Piggery Cafe. With green open spaces ready for a game of bowls or croquet, the grounds of the original mansion are exquisite. And the food is to die for. Mamma and her mums group enjoy a drive up the windy hills for this amazing food, what you world expect from a Masterchef in Shannon Bennett. The cake and slice cabinet is overflowing with goodies. The cheesecake and a raspberry tart is my pick. How often do you eat silver coloured delights? There is bench seating inside and out - with super strong heaters to warm the cockles all year round. Once you have finished feasting, make sure you explore the grounds. Go for a play with the giant, blue building blocks and challenge the kids in a game of checkers. You might even hire a set of bowls and have a game.
Mamma’s special mentions: be sure to visit Bubble and Squeak, the clever resident pigs, in their brick house on the hill and the alpacas. If you are up for more breathtaking scenery, be sure to head next-door to the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens.
